How Lie Detectors Function

JUdmLbcy

People get to hear about lie detectors all the time. These machines are usually used in police investigations and when a sensitive kind of job is hiring people. Examples of these jobs are in the FBI or CIA. The main function of a lie detector is to know if the person is telling the truth or not. What happens during a lie detector test is that the person will be attached to sensors around his or her body. The number of sensors varies from four to six. 562f54cef0070

Knowing What a Lie Detector Machine Is

A lie detector machine records the signals that are coming from the sensors connected to the person’s body. These are then recorded on a paper that moves constantly. There are also times when a lie detector machine records and observes the person’s arm and leg movement. During a lie detector test, the examiner gives the person who is being tested three to four simple questions that the person needs to answer. This will then be used as the norms and the standard for the signal that the person will emit.JUdmLbcy

After that, the real and main question is then asked to the person. All of the signals that are observed and analyzed in the test are all recorded in a piece of moving paper. The lie detector examiner than looks at the graph before and after the test, and he or she checks whether there are significant changes in the information obtained.

Knowing the Truth

If there is any significant change recorded, then there is a very high probability that the person is not telling the truth. Examples of these changes are the higher blood pressure, faster heart rate, and increased sweating or perspiration. However, all of these still depends on the examiner. The examiner should therefore be an experienced one so that the process will be an accurate one.

It is also important to remember that there are times when lie detection tests are manipulated. Therefore, one should not remove the probability that the suggested results of a lie detector test are one hundred percent true.
